New Dashboard Options That Are Not Really New
The title says it all. The “Find blogs” option on the dashboard sidebar is nothing else than the good ol’ Tumblr Spotlight. On the other hand, the small banner below the Post buttons takes you to the tab “People You Know”.
Anyways, it’s good to see Blog directory incorporated to the sidebar, though it would be good to see it become a real “blog search engine” instead of featuring curated ones.
But in all seriousness I have always been impressed how little of the 1,000+ tumblrs I follow republish the same things creating a giant echoplex. But media tumblrs, you totally reblog each other.to.death.Just kiddin’.

How To Show Captions in Your Tumblr Homepage
If you happen to never find captions from reblogs or replies you get from others in your homepage (because captions do appear on individual posts). You will have to remove some code from within your layout.
- Go to edit HTML
- Remove the {block:PermalinkPage} and {/block:PermalinkPage} that are wrapping the {block:Caption} and {/block:Caption} tags.
- The first tags mentioned prevent captions from displaying on the homepage of any tumblr or tumblrs with endless scrolling.
