New Dashboard Options That Are Not Really New
The title says it all. The “Find blogs” option on the dashboard sidebar is nothing else than the good ol’ Tumblr Spotlight. On the other hand, the small banner below the Post buttons takes you to the tab “People You Know”.
Anyways, it’s good to see Blog directory incorporated to the sidebar, though it would be good to see it become a real “blog search...

How To Show Captions in Your Tumblr Homepage
If you happen to never find captions from reblogs or replies you get from others in your homepage (because captions do appear on individual posts). You will have to remove some code from within your layout.
Go to edit HTML
Remove the {block:PermalinkPage} and {/block:PermalinkPage} that are wrapping the {block:Caption} and {/block:Caption} tags.

Download All Photos from a Tumblr Blog
In case you want to quickly grab all pictures from your favorite tumblr blog do the following:
Go here and grab the program GetTumblrPic.
Open it and enter the Tumblr blog Name, get the list of images from the folder where the program was saved.
Download “Internet Download Manager from CNET, once installed paste all the image urls there and save them to your computer

Why Tumblr Was Down.

One of our service providers just suffered a major network outage, reducing our web capacity significantly for the past two hours.
We’re frustrated with the amount of time it took to resolve this issue, but are more disappointed that this issue had such a dramatic impact on our service. We’re already working to remove this component as a single point of failure.
